If it's Tuesday--it's time for some teasing!

A panel layout from Something More!
(yes, it IS a layout ...not a finish)

What do YOU think the the Boom'rs up to?
(...and yes, Conor, it is about something you are very curious about!)

A spear on the mystery pod? The Boom'R guitarists using their feet to block the percussionist from percussing the mystery pod? What can it mean?

That's not a Mystery Pod! That's a blanktank, for healing injured beans (Wahoolazuma! p. 96-104). So why would the Boom'rs boom a spear in it...?

I notice that if you look at the image source, the title is "recycle.jpg". A blanktank has chow in it, and we know that gunk'l'dunk is made from the residue that settles on the bottom of the Chowdown Pool. Maybe they're booming the gunk'l'dunk away, so that the slat and chip can be used for some other purpose?

Hm...Actually, we've seen slats get crumpled up when spears are used. Maybe the boom is to straighten out the slat so the spear can be re-used, just like Beanish's leg was straightened out. That seems more likely.

Is this process for straightening spears, or is it for recharging chromatically challenged chipskates?

I don't see why the Boom'rs would put so much effort into fixing something that Proffy could easily rebuild, unless spear-suitable slats have gotten much rarer. Thus, I incline towards the chipskate-darkening theory.

"But it's too slim to be a chipskate!" you say. Well, perhaps the same force that makes chipskates useful could make spears even more useful...

Is it atomic???

But Proffy is having a harder time finding parts of the appropriate size. I think David might be on the right track.

It starts out as a recycling experiment but it ends up being something completely different.

Something more :) Certainly fits in with the them of the book. I'd say attempts at recycing a krinkled spear have resulted in them being imbued with a special characteristic as a result of the boomed chow. It made the chow dance, so maybe this spear will now vibrate or do some sort of funky midair flying

Yeah I think that this will be the new method of transportation. The chipskates are only big enough for the cuties. I think the Boom'rs will accidentally discover a way to permanently make a...spearskate?...that will allow all the beans (and Mr. Spook) to fly.
