I don't think it would be a big surprise to anyone that I like Felix The Cat. The Beanworld characters Mr Spook and the Hoi-Polloi Ring Herd are clearly aesthetic cousins of Felix.While looking for something else, I found this great little piece online. Not only does it perfectly illustrate the five senses--it tells a very funny story--DURING prohibition no less!
Somehow, I don't suspect that in today's world we would see a mainstream cartoon character doing gags concerning the abuse of an illegal substance. I think those years of the twenties really did roar!
