Half and the Beanweb

So what is this rather unwieldy URL? is the closest thing that I've ever had to a website. It was assembled wayyyyyy back in the 20th century by a very dedicated Beanworld fan named Mark L. Irons.
He calls himself "Half."

I've never met Half, but my wife Cory, has corresponded extensively with him and (I think) talked to him on the phone from time to time.Half (and his collaborators) have performed an an incredible collection and collation of the bits and pieces of my Beanworld comics work.

It is a resource that I refer to constantly as I work on new Beanworld work.

"New Beanworld work?"

Yes.It's getting closer.

The fact that I have quietly started this blog--is all an signal that Beanworld is ready to emerge from its long, long slumber.

"new Beanworld work"

Are there any three nicer words in comics?

Welcome to blog-topia, Larry.

-- Mark a.k.a. Half

p.s. Back when I put together the BeanWeb, I wanted to get a domain like or, but everything good was already taken. :(

p.p.s. Welcome to the world of blogging!

This is the best news I've read this century. Beanworld was just phenomenally wonderful to read and hugely influential to me and my own art and comics. I'm really looking forward to the new work.

i am absolutely thrilled to hear about new Beanworld tales! i still hand it over to other comic artists, who have always been awestruck by it.

i'll be walking around this year's documenta with a big grin - another historical beanworld place...

You cannot believe how incredibly happy I am right now.

I should do a flowchart about it.
